The YMCA is working to help you get the tools and resources you need to be successful on your fitness journey.
YMCA Personal Trainer Meredith Atterbery said the YMCA’s new member program Fit Path is designed to help new members set goals and reach them.
“Every new member at the YMCA will sit down with one of our wellness coaches and talk though exercise history, medical history and goals. We’ll figure out where you are, where you’ve been and try and figure out how to get you there.”
Atterbery said this Fit Path program is different because it’s tailored to the individual.
“Sometimes different facilities that you join will just say, ‘hey here you go good luck’. What we want to do is make sure that you’re ready for you’re journey.”
Atterbery said these Fit Path meetings can be as long or as short as you need it to be.
“It’s completely customized to you. If you need to be on ActivTrax, our online personal trainer, that will take closer to an hour. If you just need a couple of tips or tricks on things to change, it may be as short as 15 minutes.”
If you have no idea where to start, Atterbery said that’s OK.
“We can meet you exactly where you are and help you with exactly what you need. You may be looking ot perfect a certain exercise, we can help with that. If you’re looking on just a general place to start, we can also help with that.”
