BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The YMCA of the Capital Area has received approval to expand services to surrounding areas. New locations include Hammond, Denham Springs, Walker, Gonzales, Prairieville and Lake Charles.
The approval came from the national YMCA after the completion of a state profile along with approval from other YMCA locations in the state.
Objectives of YMCA include “ensuring that youth in Y programs demonstrate improvement in the skills needed for successful living; helping individuals achieve their health and well-being goals by partnering with stakeholders; and that diverse, underserved communities feel supported by the Y.”
“What the Y does best is bring people together and build community, we look forward to the opportunities to provide services to additional communities within our state,” said Christian Engle, YMCA of the Capital Area, President/CEO.
