BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD)- The YMCA of the Capital Area, along with Amazon, is offering high school students the chance to work on a project that addresses the critical needs and issues in Baton Rouge as part of the Changemakers Project.

YMCA will select one project to represent their local YMCA and community during the final 3 days of the YMCA Youth Governors Conference in Washington, DC from June 15-17, 2022.

The project is entirely up to the students to choose what they will address. The Changemakers Project rules are listed below:

  • Step 1: Project Leader Registration: Two project leaders must submit individual registration forms. Your project will not be considered by your local Y without submission of this registration form by both of your leaders.
  • Step 2: Project Proposal: After completing Step 1 individually, both Project Leaders should then work together to submit their Project Proposal.

The deadline for students to submit their project proposals is Feb. 28, 2022 at 11:59 p.m.

Students can submit their YMCA Changemakers Project here.
