BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Like the rest of the state, businesses in the City of Zachary began moving into Phase 2 of reopening on Friday.
Many have begun making the switch to Phase 2. But at The Ruby Salon, they’re taking it a little slower. “I like to start fresh on a new week, ” owner Katie Slaughter told us. “Friday’s feel weird for me to start things. So next week we are gonna up the capacity, so the girls can pretty much start working their normal schedule.”
Right around the corner at Renaissance Medical Spa, they say they’re getting ready for more business too.
Registered Aesthetician Lisa Bergeron told us they have one massage therapist and one aesthetician working now and their clients are excited.
“The phone has been ringing off the hook,” Bergeron said on Friday. “So we are able to go full fledged, well, still being at the social distancing at fifty percent, starting next week.”
Nearby at Fellowship Church Zachary, they’re gearing up for their first day back in church on Sunday.
Like many churches, Fellowship has been doing church online to keep people praying, praising, and connected.
But after 11 weeks apart, they’re ready to welcome people back with open arms.
Pastor Starr Hornsby says “We’re getting everything ready. we’re making sure our facilities are sanitized and prepared for our church family to come back. So we’re really, very excited.”
