BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A tip led state wildlife agents to cite a Zachary man accused of hunting deer during a closed season in East Baton Rouge Parish last Thursday.
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) identified the man as 32-year-old Darious M. Johnson.
The agency said Johnson admitted to killing a six-point deer in the parish on Aug. 5 after authorities found deer parts at his home. Deer meat and antlers were seized by agents, according to LDWF.
LDWF said those who hunt during a closed season could face a $950 fine and 120 days in jail.
