WATSON, La. (BRPROUD) – Ryan Hodges has been at Live Oak Middle School for 26 years. He’s been principal almost half of that time.

On Monday, Dec. 19, Hodges, for the first time, donned an “Elf on the Shelf” outfit and got onto the roof of the school. Members of the school community saw Hodges as they made their way through carpool line.

He was up there rain or shine. A bus driver named Trampis Acosta said the kids loved it. The school bus drivers got the idea from social media and were able to get the outfit.

So why did Hodges to put on the elf outfit?

He said school can be stressful, and he hopes that this act could bring some laughter and smiles to everyone.

Hodges wanted to share this message with members of the Live Oak Middle School community, “Merry Christmas, you are loved, and I am proud of the work that you do at the best place on Earth.
