Local schools extend closures due to Hurricane Laura


BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Several local schools have cancelled class Thursday due to Hurricane Laura.

Episcopal School of Baton Rouge announced it will remain closed Thursday due to Hurricane Laura. Both in-person and virtual classes are cancelled, according to a press release from the school.

St. Joseph’s Academy has also cancelled its Friday classes but will hold in-person and virtual classes Friday as scheduled.

Catholic High School will be closed through Thursday. On-campus and virtual classes are set to resume Friday.

Baton Rouge International School will remain closed Thursday, and both on-campus and remote learning will be suspended.

Parkview Baptist School and Parkview Preschool will be closed on Thursday, and no on-campus activities will take place.
