Local soldiers sent off to the Middle East with Farewell Ceremony

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – Lots of hugs were given out on Saturday at Jefferson Highway Park.

Around 20 soldiers from the 540th Movement Control Team participated in a Farewell Ceremony.

These soldiers are going to take part in Operation Inherent Resolve after being called to active duty.

The soldiers are heading to the Middle East.

While there, the members of the 540th Movement Control Team “will provide
movement control of logistics within the theater of operation.”

The Farewell Ceremony took place at 10 a.m.

Capt. Christopher D. Dorsey is the leader of the 540th Movement Control Team.
