Local woman dies after vehicle strikes a pole on Sunday morning

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Police Department was called to the scene of a deadly crash on Sunday morning.

35-year-old Krystal Arnold, of Greenwell Springs died in a crash which took place in the 9000 block of Greenwell Springs Rd. around 2 a.m.

Prior to the crash, a 2015 Toyota Camry “was traveling westbound on Greenwell Springs Road in the outside turn lane,” according to the Baton Rouge Police Department.

At some point, investigators think Arnold lost control of the Toyota and “failed to navigate a turn.”

The 35-year-old ended up striking a pole and was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Arnold was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into this deadly crash remains open.
