Kamala Harris’ historic Vice Presidential nomination was an emotional moment for many in the community. Biden selected Harris to be his running mate for Vice President Tuesday, making her the first woman of color on a major party’s presidential ticket.
The decision has inspired many women across the Capital City.
” Watching her, just watching her it is so empowering. I mean she really inspires me to strive for more. That is the definition of black excellence,” says Priscilla Thomas of Baton Rouge.
Harris attended Howard University and is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
