ASCENSION PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) – Despite the threat of rain, locals showed up to support the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office’s (APSO) Community United Stronger Together event over the weekend.

The Saturday, May 21 the Donaldsonville-based event allowed residents to get information from local organizations such as Our Lady of the Lake’s Children’s Hospital, Woman’s Hospital, CareSouth, and Southern University.

Last year, the event garnered attention for featuring food, drink, and information related to job opportunities.

This year, locals were also able to obtain much-needed information, just ahead of the rain.

APSO’s Facebook page posted the following statement about the occasion: “We’re so glad the rain held out just long enough for APSO’s Community United Stronger Together event at the WAG Center in Donaldsonville today. We would like to thank all of the organizations who helped us share vital resources with the community.”
