The Louisiana Department of Health is reporting an increase in both coronavirus cases and deaths in the state.
LDH released these new coronavirus numbers at noon on Monday:
- 34 deaths, up from 20 last night.
- 1,172 cases in the state
- 41 parishes out of 64 reporting at least one case
There have been 5,948 completed tests by state and commerical labs.
The Louisiana Department of Health says, “in addition to Lambeth House, where LDH has identified 42 COVID-19 patients and reported 9 deaths, the Department has newly identified a second cluster at Chateau D’Ville in Donaldsonville, with 5 cases all identified today. LDH is working with this facility to help minimize the spread of this infection, and has requested additional assistance from the CDC. “
