BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD)- The Louisiana Lottery Corporation announced that the 2020 revenue is the Lottery’s second best year ever, ending the fiscal year with more than $511.8 million dollar revenue.
$179.1 million of the revenue was distributed to k-12 public schools across the state.
Lottery President, Rose Hudson, says the lottery has faced its own challenges due to the pandemic, however the lottery came out strong.
“The Lottery’s success story is a result of the resiliency of our retailers as essential businesses, the ingenuity and diligence of our employees and our unwavering shared commitment to the Lottery’s mission to raise funds for public education,” said Hudson.
Those who purchase lottery tickets must be at least 21-years-old.
