BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – On Tuesday, November 1, the Baton Rouge Police Department was asked to investigate a theft.

The call came from a location on Greenwell Springs Rd.

The person who made the call about the theft was Edward Mack, Jr, 54, of Ethel.

Mack Jr. claimed that a woman had taken his vehicle.

During the ensuing investigation, the officer learned that there were “multiple felony warrants” for Mack. Jr.

The outstanding felony warrants were for Aggravated Burglary and Theft of a Motor Vehicle.

The charges involved the vehicle Mack Jr. claimed was stolen from him.

When in reality, “the female victim had come back to retrieve” her vehicle, according to the probable cause form.

The affidavit states that on Sunday, October 16, Mack Jr. forcefully entered the residence of the victim.

The Ethel man then “struck the victim in the left hand and left knee with an iron pipe,’ according to the affidavit.

The female victim was able to call police and stated that she and Mack Jr. had recently ended their relationship.

The victim said her vehicle was taken by Mack, Jr. five days before this incident after the duo had an argument.

Mack was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Tuesday, November 1.

This is not the first time that Mack. Jr. has been arrested by law enforcement.

Mack, Jr. “has been arrested for aggravated battery 4 times, attempted 1st-degree murder 2 times, simple battery 2 times, attempted armed robbery, aggravated rape, and numerous other charges,” according to the affidavit.

The 54-year-old remains behind bars on the charges listed below:

  • Misrepresentation During Booking
  • Aggravated Burglary
  • Theft Of A Motor Vehicle

Bond has not been set for Edward Mack, Jr.
