A Lafayette man was arrested and charged with contractor fraud.

Ascension Parish Sheriff Bobby Webre says his department “arrested 37-year-old Ellis St. Pierre on residential contractor fraud” last week.

An APSO investigation revealed that St. Pierre was given money to rebuild a flood damaged home and failed to do so.

Authorities say St. Pierre “received $40,000 to rebuild a flood damaged residence in 2017 but no work was ever completed.”

Thie victim in this case did get half of the money back from the arrested man’s business partner.

The victim is still waiting for the other $20,000.

St. Pierre was in the Ascension Parish Jail but was let out after posting a $20,000 bond.
