PEARL RIVER, La. (BRPROUD) – 34-year-old Marvin Reyes-Calderon, of Pearl River, pled guilty in court this week.

Reyes-Calderon pled guilty to One Count of Sexual Battery with a Victim Under Thirteen.

With that plea comes a lengthy stay in prison.

Reyes-Calderon was sentenced to 60 years behind bars with no chance of probation, parole or suspension of sentence until 40 years into his stay in prison.

According to the 22nd JDC District Attorney Warren Montgomery’s Office, “On February 14, 2019, the eleven-year-old victim was taken to the hospital by her mother due to complaints of stomach pain.”

Investigators learned that the 11-year-old was pregnant.

The DA’s office stated that the victim “then disclosed that a relative’s husband, the defendant, had forcibly raped her on two occasions and threatened to kill her family members if she told anyone.”

The 11-year-old rape victim gave birth to the child.

After that, investigators were able to confirm that Marvin Reyes-Calderon was the father.
