Louisiana Marathon weekend recap: race results, participation numbers

Despite the threat of rain and muggy conditions, the Louisiana Marathon yielded a high turnout in Baton Rouge this weekend, and competitors in the event’s five races ran thousands of miles.

A total of 912 Louisiana Marathon finishers ran nearly 24,000 miles combined, and more than 2,000 runners completed the half marathon and ran more than 26,000 miles.

A total of 86 people who ran over the weekend qualified for the Boston Marathon in April, according to Marina Gelpi Clay.

Winners in the Louisiana Marathon Men’s Division and their times are as follows:

1. Kenney Rayner, 2:28:30
2. Ryan Crandall, 2:37:04
3. John Hitter, 2:41:47

Winners in the Louisiana Marathon Women’s Division and their times are as follows:

1. Samantha Yeager, 2:51:31
2. Katie Moran, 3:00:42
3. Rosalie Teeuwen, 3:01:45

Winners in the Louisiana Half Marathon Men’s Division and their times are as follows:

1. Christopher Capps, 1:10:01
2. Richard Bouckaert, 1:10:16
3. Derek Yorek, 1:11:33

Winners in the Louisiana Half Marathon Women’s Division and their times are as follows:

1. Jackie Range, 1:22:07
2. Ellen Benoit, 1:26:01
3. Varinka Ensminger, 1:26:11

Winners in the Ochsner Louisiana Marathon 5k Men’s Division and their times are as follows:

1. Ryan Crandall, 17:30

2. Michael Rhodes, 17:49

3. Dave Leveque, 18:14

Winners in the Ochsner Louisiana Marathon 5k Women’s Division and their times are as follows:

1. Varinka Barbini Ensminger, 19:40

2. Brooke Mason, 22:29

3. Hannah Amoroso, 22:46

Winners in the Ochsner Louisiana Quarter Marathon Men’s Division and their times are as follows:

1. Daniel Forman, 39:05
