BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) —The Angola Prison Rodeo is returning in October.
Every Sunday in October, the public can go to the rodeo with inmate cowboys competing in games such as bull riding. The rodeo opens at 8 a.m. and its big event, “Wildest Show in the South”, begins at 1 p.m.
Rodeo fans can also listen to inmate bands and shop for prisoner arts and crafts including jewelry, paintings, woodwork and more.
Children will also be able to ride ponies, play carnival games and ride a carousel. Tickets can be purchased here or by calling 225-655-2030 or 225-655-2607, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday.
