BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries agents arrested five boaters accused of driving while intoxicated in the first week of June.

According to LDWF, on Thursday, June 1, Kevin Stevens, 44, of Hammond was charged with driving while intoxicated on the Tangipahoa River.

On Friday, June 2, Colby Troxclair, 28, of Pierre Part was charged with driving while intoxicated on the Atchafalaya River.

On Saturday, June 3, Michael Wingate, 40, of Sulphur was charged with driving while intoxicated on the Calcasieu Ship Channel.

On Sunday, June 4, Barry Alleman, 59, of Livingston Parish was charged with driving while intoxicated on the Amite River and Tyler Zizza, 21, of Port Allen was charged with driving while intoxicated on the Tickfaw River.

LDWF said driving while intoxicated charges on the water are the same penalty as on land, including fines, loss of driver’s license, and even jail time.
