BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – With the Super Bowl less than 10 days away, there is some good news to share about the price of crawfish. For a few weeks, consumers chose not to pay high prices for their crawfish.

More crawfish were out there to be had and that led to a decrease in the price of crawfish over the last two weeks.

According to The Crawfish App, there has been a “$1.50 per pound price drop over the last two weeks.” If you remember what crawfish cost at this time last year, you will be paying about the same this week.

So how much will you be paying for crawfish this weekend?

The Crawfish App provided this breakdown:

  • $5.99 a pound for boiled crawfish
  • $3.50 a pound for medium-sized live crawfish
  • Between $100 to $125 per sack

“We expect crawfish prices to stay about the same going into next week and Superbowl weekend,” says Laney King, co-founder of The Crawfish App. “As long as the weather cooperates.”
