BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Make that five weeks in a row where crawfish prices have gone down in Louisiana.
“While the crawfish docks did not formally drop crawfish prices this week, we did see a $.15 cents per pound drop on The Crawfish App, meaning that retailers decided to drop prices anyway in order to remain competitive in the market,” according to The Crawfish App.
The most recent drop of $.15 cents means that crawfish prices have dropped by $1.50 per pound over the last five weeks. So what will you be paying for crawfish this weekend? In Louisiana, live crawfish will cost you on average $2.64 per pound and boiled crawfish will cost an average of $4.83 per pound. The Crawfish App provided details about what crawfish prices look like in the Gulf Coast and Texas too.

The good news doesn’t stop there as consumers are paying $.20 less per pound for crawfish this year compared to the same time in 2022, according to the Crawfish App.
Good Friday is one week away and the Crawfish App took a look at what prices make look like around Easter time.
“Good Friday and Easter Sunday are two of the busiest days in crawfish country, so be sure to get your sacks reserved early next week,” said Laney King, Co-Founder of The Crawfish App mobile app. “The docks usually announce crawfish price changes on Mondays or Tuesdays, and we’re forecasting a small price increase for next week, so take advantage of these low prices this weekend while you can!”
