What better “scary” place than Louisiana? Louisiana is popular for its reported ghost hauntings and having dark swamp areas, old plantation houses, foggy cemeteries and its association with voodoo.

Venom (2005) was filmed in Amite, Hammond, New Orleans, and Choctaw, according to IMDb. A group of teens are being chased by a man with 13 evil souls, Mr. Jangles, around Louisiana swamps looking for new victims.
The Mist (2007) is a horror Sci-Fi that was filmed in Vivian, Minden, and Shreveport, according to IMDb. This film features a storm that releases creatures into a small town, causing a group of citizens to stay inside a grocery store to stay alive.
The Last Exorcism (2010) is a popular horror thriller that features a minister (Patrick Fabian) performing his last exorcism on camera as a documentary. The film was shot in St. Bernard Parish and New Orleans, according to IMDb.
10 Cloverfield Lane (2016) was shot in Hahnville and New Orleans, IMDb says. The horror mystery features a young woman (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) being held captive in an underground bunker by a man (John Goodman) who believes the world is in poor living conditions.
Jeepers Creepers 3 (2017) is a horror movie that has a sheriff and a group of creeper hunters to stop the monster from eating the town. Jeepers Creepers was shot in Baton Rouge, Ethel, St. Francisville, New Roads, and Jackson, La., according to IMDb.
