Louisiana teachers expected to get more money come payday next year

BATON ROUGE, La. (WGNO) — In early May, the Louisiana’s House of Representatives advanced a $36.4 billion spending bill for next year.

And with that massive budget comes a higher than expected pay raise for teachers.

The state is also providing funding for teachers in higher education.

And, the legislation proposes full funding for Louisiana’s TOPS (Taylor Opportunity Program for Students).
