BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A nonprofit foundation that LSU’s Kappa Sigma Fraternity established announced it’s dedicating more than $160,000 in scholarship funds to 141 LSU students in financial need this fall.
Fraternity alumni created the Star & Crescent Foundation in 2013. The foundation awards scholarships to students who showcase their commitment to academic excellence, leadership and community service each year, according to spokeswoman Alyssa Braden.
This year’s scholarship recipients will get between $500 and $3,000 in scholarship funds from the foundation. Of those recipients, 31 are from Baton Rouge.
