BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – LSU Police have noticed a recent trend on campus and it is not a good one.

LSU Police is asking the public to do what you can to keep their bikes from being stolen.

That is because of an increase in bike thefts this month on campus.

LSU Police recently sent out an alert with this message:

LSU Police has seen a rise in bicycle thefts during the month of October. Please be aware of where you are parking your bicycle and a U-bolt lock is preferable to a bike chain or cable. The campus community is reminded to follow rules and regulations when operating a bicycle on campus.

If you are in need of a bicycle helmet and or light, stop by the LSU Police Department.

The LSU Police Headquarters is located at 204 South Stadium Rd.
