LSU’s PMAC PPE initiative yields more than 20,000 gowns for healthcare workers


BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – LSU basketball and gymnastics fans used to flood the PMAC for games and meets. But with with collegiate sports cancelled indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the university used the building for something else.

LSU’s PMAC PPE initiative yielded the creation of more than 20,000 gowns for healthcare workers, according to an LSU Facebook post.

Those gowns were made in just 30 days in the PMAC to “protect the protectors.”
