Macy’s Make-A-Wish Foundation: grants 3-year-old Arcadia, toy shopping spree

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – Macy’s is celebrating its 14th annual Make-A-Wish Foundation: Believe Campaign, by granting Arcadia, 3 with a toy shopping spree in the Macy’s at the Mall of Louisiana on Friday, Dec. 17 at 9:30 a.m.

Acadia was diagnosed with a metabolic disorder and wishes to restore her toy collection after Hurricane Ida.

The event will roll out with a red carpet for Acadia’s shopping spree, which will include all of her favorite toys, DJ with all her favorite songs, and a special visit from Toys “R” Us’ very own, Geoffrey the Giraffe, according to the news release.

Macy’s Store Manager Christian Rogers will also speak at the event. Other attendees include—Acadia’s Mother, Amber LaBranche MAW Texas Gulf Coast, and Louisiana chapter representative.

Make-A-Wish Foundation schedule is listed below; Guest will meet on the 2nd Floor, of Macy’s Men’s Entrance, North side of the building (facing Interstate 10)

  • 9:00 – 9:05 a.m. Media and special guests to arrive
  • 9:30 – 9:35 a.m. Acadia and family will arrive, fanfare entrance
  • 9:35 – 10:30 a.m. Surprise wish reveal, In-Store VIP Experience with Acadia and her family

Macy’s beloved Believe letter-writing campaign, in partnership with Make-A-Wish, gives customers of all ages the opportunity to send letters and deliver wishes. From Nov. 1 through Dec. 24, for every letter sent to Santa online at or dropped off in Macy’s stores nationwide, Macy’s will donate $1 to Make-A-Wish, up to $1 million, to help children fighting critical illnesses’ life-changing wishes come true.
