WALKER, La. (BRPROUD) – A man from Mexico was arrested after a recent investigation by the Walker Police Department.

The investigation centered around accusations made against 38-year-old Nereo Nunez-Granadon.

Nunez-Granadon was accused of raping an underage girl.

According to Walker Police Chief David Addison, “the victim, along with her parents, notified police that Nunez Granadon forced the under-aged victim to have sex multiple times during over the last several months.”

Chief Addison said that “through our investigation, we learned that the accused is an acquaintance of the victim and her family.”

The alleged incidents took place over a period of time in 2022.

“Between May and October of this year, through threats, coercion and undue influence, the accused forced the victim to engage in various sexual activities with him,” according to the Walker Police Department.

Along with those accusations, Nunez Granadon is said to have forcefully asked for photographs that were sexually explicit in nature.

Walker PD said that Nunez Granadon did get those photos from the victim.

According to Chief Addison, “during the investigation, police discovered numerous items of evidence to support the victim’s allegations, resulting in the issuance of a warrant for the arrest of the accused.”

The 38-year-old was arrested around 5:40 a.m. on Thursday, November 10.

Nunez Granadon remains in the Livingston Parish Detention Center on the charges listed below:

  • Multiple counts of Third Degree Rape
  • Sexual Battery
  • Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile
  • Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor
  • Pornography Involving a Juvenile

Walker PD said, “Nunez-Granadon is being held on a detainer by federal authorities, pending disposition of the State charges.”
