Man accused of sexual battery at store on Plank Rd., open beer bottle found in vehicle after arrest

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A police officer with the Baton Rouge Police Department was called to a reported sexual assault on Sunday.

The officer arrived at the store on Plank Rd. and information was gathered from the alleged victim and a witness.

Both stated that “Alexander came into the store and made crude comments about the victim before he came around behind the counter and kissed the victim on the neck without her consent,” according to the affidavit.

Further investigation found that Alexander then went shopping in the store.

Alexander then returned to the same line where the victim was working.

From there, security camera footage captured Alexander going behind the counter and smacking the victim on the buttocks.

The suspect fled before police made it to the scene.

Alexander returned after police left the scene and allegedly threatened the victim.

The suspect was arrested and the police officer was asked to secure Alexander’s vehicle.

When securing the vehicle, the police officer found a still cold, open bottle of Bud Light in the cupholder and 11 beers in the backseat.

Alexander is currently in the East Baton Rouge Prison facing these charges:

  • Simple Battery
  • Misdemeanor Sexual Battery
  • Simple Assault
  • Open Container of Alcohol in Vehicle
