BATON ROUGE, La. (BrProud) — St. George Fire Protection District Fire Investigators have made an arrest in connection to a large debris fire at 8360 Antioch Rd. that occurred on July 5.
Timothy Keith was arrested for one count of Simple Arson and one count Criminal Mischief relating to the giving a false alarm of an emergency on July 10. Keith was then booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
On July 5, St. George Fire responded to a reported trash fire at 8630 Antioch Rd. Firefighters found a large pile of debris and other materials burning in the driveway just 10 feet away from the residence. The fire was reported in fear that the house was about to catch fire. An occupant of the residence told the on-scene Fire Captain that Keith, her ex-boyfriend, intentionally ignited the fire. The fire investigator responded to the scene at the request of the Fire Captain.
The same day East Baton Rogue Parish Sheriff’s Office, East Baton Rouge EMS, and St. George Fire Protection District responded to a prank 911 call at the residence. Fire Investigators discovered that Keith was responsible for the prank call.
Fire Investigators learned a heated verbal argument took place between the woman in the home and Keith. Another male occupant of the residence was also involved in the argument. After the Mr. Keith then sent over 400 harassing text messages to the male occupant. Keith allegedly continued to harass them through phone calls and visited the property multiple times without permission. Mr. Keith threatened to burn the house with the residents in it in various phone calls and text messages prior to the fire incident.
