Man arrested on suspicion of looting in Houma during TS Barry

HOUMA, La. (WDSU) –

A man was arrested in Houma Saturday on suspicion of looting during Tropical Storm Barry.

Houma police were dispatched to the 100 block of Roselawn Avenue after a burglary call.Advertisement

The homeowner saw a man exiting his residence and gave the man’s description to police, according to the report.

Officer located Quintrell Welch, 30.

According to police, Welch stole a Vizio television and some Craftsman lawn equipment prior to being spotted by the homeowner.

Welch was taken to the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex where he was booked on one count of suspicion of looting.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Houma Police Department at 985-873-6371 because the property has not been recovered.
