Man arrested on two counts of sexual battery after touching two people at LSU’s UREC

News

A Baton Rouge man faces two counts of sexual battery after allegedly pressing his clothed genitals against two people’s backsides while they were using weight lifting machines at LSU’s University Recreation facility Monday evening.

Police arrested Darren Porter Brewton, 29, of 4445 Alvin Dark Ave. after officers reviewed the UREC’s surveillance video and determined that the footage matched statements made by both victims and a witness.

The video shows a man fitting Brewton’s description clearly pushing his waist out to make contact with both victims, an officer reported.

The witness saw the incident involving the second victim and confronted the suspect, who promptly left the scene. Brewton confirmed during questioning that he had gotten into an argument with the witness, according to an affidavit.
