Man critically injured in New Year’s Night shooting in Donaldsonville

Baton Rouge, LA (NBC 33/Fox 44) Investigators with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office are looking for information in a shooting that happened in Donaldsonville overnight.

Sheriff Bobby Webre says it happened just after midnight New Year’s Day on St. Patrick Street. We’re told the victim and his wife had just returned home from church and was he sitting in the driver’s seat of his vehicle in his driveway when he was shot twice.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

Authorities have no motive or suspect in the case at this point. However, the investigation is ongoing.
