BATON ROUGE, La. (NBC Local 33) (FOX 44) — A 2006 Ford F150 pulling a trailer full of lawn equipment overturned on I-12 around 7 p.m. Saturday night, according to the Baton Rouge Police Department.
The truck was westbound near the O’Neal Lane exit when investigators believe the driver tried to abruptly take the exit. As a result, the driver lost control and the vehicle came to rest in the bottom of a ditch.
The driver, Timothy Sears, 52 was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger in the truck was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries, according to police.
A press release from BRPD said investigators believe speed was a factor in the crash.
