Man facing arson charges again in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – 51-year-old Eric T Haugabrook is behind bars in connection with a recent vacant house fire on Thomas H Delpit Dr.

Investigators believe that Haugabrook was responsible for starting a fire at “a vacant house at 1946 Thomas H Delpit.”

After getting an arrest warrant, the 41-year-old was apprehended around 6 p.m. on Wednesday, September 29 by law enforcement.

BRPD assisted with the arrest of Haugabrook in the 1800 block of Virginia St.

Haugabrook is facing one count of simple arson.

According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, “Haugabrook is being investigated for his possible involvement in numerous other vacant house fires in the south Baton Rouge area.”

BRFD states that this is not the first time Haugabrook was arrested on arson charges.

The fire department noted two other occasions when Haugabrook was arrested on similar charges:

  • 12/07/1999- Simple and Aggravated Arson
  • 05/21/2009- Simple and Aggravated Arson
