BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Police Department was called to a reported shooting in the 600 block of W. McKinley St.

The shooting took place at the Alight Baton Rouge apartment complex.

According to BRPD, officers responded to a shooting that happened around 11:30 p.m. and when officers arrived at the scene they found a man had been shot. The man has been identified as Keandre Williams, 25, of Baker.

Investigators believe Williams arrived at the apartment complex to visit a female acquaintance. While inside, Alvin Allen III, 21, of Baton Rouge allegedly forced his way into the home, armed with a gun. Officials say Allen shot Williams multiple times before fleeing the area. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.

Allen has been booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of first-degree murder, home invasion, and illegal use of a weapon.
