Is it mean or sweet?
A California man got the help of a police officer to stage an arrest and propose to his girlfriend.
“I walking to him everyone is like hold on hold on. It’s the police and I’m like ‘oh my god, what the heck is going on? What did he do?” Jamicia Johnson said.
That was Jamicia Johnson’s reaction when she saw her long-time boyfriend, Princeton Jones, appear to get arrested outside their home.
He got help with the surprise from officer Mark Carrillo.
“We devised a little plan and I told him ‘Hey, I’ll pull you over. As soon as he turned the corner we hit the lights and sirens on him walked up and played off the traffic stop and I said ‘hey he’s got some warrants out for his arrest so he’s going to be going with us tonight,” Carrillo with the Hanford Police Department said. “I told him I’m pretending to handcuff you. Then I got the ring out of his pocket and I put it in his hand.”
“I just walk up to him and he gets down on his knee, and I like freaked out. My heart started pounding and it was amazing. It was the best thing ever,” Johnson said.
Carrillo says he was happy to be a part of this special moment and show that police officers can have fun too.
The couple plans to tie the knot in July, in Las Vegas.
