ASCENSION PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) — The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who is suspected to be involved in theft and endangering motorists.
According to Sheriff Bobby Webre, deputies with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office are looking for Christopher “Lando” Zachary, 26. A warrant for his arrest has been issued for resisting an officer, aggravated flight from an officer, aggravated obstruction of a highway, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, criminal trespass, and theft.
APSO said around 2 a.m. Wednesday morning, deputies responded to an off-road vehicle theft from a residence in Sorrento. Deputies saw a truck that matched the description of Zachary’s vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop, but Zachary did not pull over.
Zachary’s vehicle was found abandoned after hitting a ditch. Four subjects got out of the vehicle and began fleeing the scene. Two subjects were caught immediately and were identified as Sunny Lander, 21, of Denham Springs, and Alayna Reach, 19, of Denham Springs. Both Reach and Lander were arrested and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail and charged with criminal trespass, felony theft, and resisting an officer.
Zachary and another subject remain at large. Zachary is allegedly a known violent offender and is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on Zachary’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office at 225-621-4636 or Crime Stoppers at 225-344-7867 (STOP).
