Man who fired shot at Kenner police identified, remains on the run

KENNER, La. (WDSU) —

The Kenner police Department and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office are conducting a search for a suspect who fired a shot at officers after being pulled over.

Around 11 a.m. Kenner police attempted to conduct a traffic stop near Power Boulevard.

According to Kenner police, the suspect, identified as Hassan Norris, 20, fired a shot at an officer after being pulled over.

Norris is wanted on an arrest warrant of attempted first-degree murder.

Kenner police did not fire back, according to the police chief.

Norris fled into Jefferson Parish jurisdiction and is still being sought.
