Man’s charges upgraded after shooting victim dies

BATON ROUGE, La. (LOCAL 33/FOX 44) – Charges were upgraded against a Baton Rouge man accused of trying to kill another man.

Baton Rouge police say 27-year-old Charles Hunt IV now faces first degree murder charges.

He’s accused of shooting 27-year-old Johnathan Price on July 12, 2017 during a drive-by shooting around 9:48pm in the 1200 block of Flora Lane.

Hunt was originally arrested on February 20, 2019 for his involvement in this shooting and was charged with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder and Felon in Possession of a firearm.

Price died on October 8, 2019 from medical complications directed related to his shooting injury. Hunt is currently in East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
