LIVINGSTON, La. (BRPROUD) – Investigative Reporter Ariel Salk reports that the judge for the Melanie Curtin case has upheld the life sentence.

She found out her fate in court on Monday, March 21. Her family gave victim statements.

Curtin was found guilty of aggravated rape and video voyeurism in December of 2021.

Sentencing is scheduled for Melanie Curtin inside the Livingston Parish Courthouse.

Curtin is facing the possibility of spending the rest of her life behind bars.

Curtin was arrested in February of 2020 as part of an ongoing sex abuse investigation involving Dennis and Cynthia Perkins.

The trial for Dennis Perkins is scheduled to begin in May of this year.
