Missing Hammond man found dead on Monday

The Tangipahoa Sheriff’s Office made an arrest in the November death of a 27-year-old Hammond man.

Julius Gales, 24, of Hammond was charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of Pere Jackson, according to TPSO.

Gales was already in jail for unrelated charges.

The investigation remains active and on-going.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office has some sad news to pass along on Tuesday.

A 27-year-old man who had been missing since November 15 was found dead in Natalbany on Monday afternoon.

Pere Jackson was found “near the edge of a wooded area on Dead End St.,” according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office.

TPSO believe Jackson died as a result of a homicide.

An autopsy is forthcoming and the investigation into when and how Jackson died remains ongoing.
