AMITE, La. (BRPROUD) – An 18-year-old was arrested and charged with armed robbery after an investigation led authorities to him.

The Amite City Police Department says a 15-year-old was robbed in the 800 block of South Second Street on Nov. 13. Through an investigation, officers learned the identity of the suspect and were able to obtain a search warrant for their residence on Gullett Street.

With help from the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, the search warrant was executed on Nov. 22. The police department says both agencies were able to remove everyone inside safely.

Three stolen handguns, an AR rifle, two Draco-style firearms, 55 grams of marijuana, and ammunition were seized as a result of the search warrant, according to the police.

The police arrested 18-year-old Jamarcus Cyprian and charged him with armed robbery, illegal use of a weapon, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of stolen things, and possession of a dangerous weapon while in possession of CDS.
