Mississippi University for Women, delays semester due to COVID spikes

COLUMBUS, Miss. (BRPROUD)- Colleges and universities across the U.S. continues to delay their spring semesters—due to COVID-19, recent surges, including Mississippi University for Women (MUW) spring classes will now start Tuesday, Jan. 18 instead of Jan. 3 as planned to help reduce the spread of the virus.

The spring delay also ensures that staffing and supplies are in place to allow for COVID testing.

MUW visitors are encouraged to get vaccinated and or receive booster shots. Mask are still required regardless of vaccination status while inside buildings.

Free rapid test are available to students and faculty starting Jan. 17 at the residence hall on the MUW campus. For more information visit muw.edu
