BATON ROUGE, LA (BRPROUD.COM) — The Baton Rouge Area Association of Black Journalists (BRAABJ) is hosting a “Secrets to Accessing the Media” workshop to help community organizations, small business owners, and others learn how to get publicity for their events. 

The workshop will be held on Saturday, April 1 from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the River Center Branch Library, 250 North Boulevard, in Baton Rouge. The cost is $25 per person. Refreshments will be served. You can register here.

Local anchors, reporters, producers, public relations professionals and editors will teach you how to get your events in the media, how to write a news release, and how to conduct yourself during a media interview.  

BRAABJ was founded in 2012. Its mission is to promote and support Black journalists and media professionals and give back through mentoring and scholarships. It is an affiliate of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ). BRAABJ has been recognized by NABJ as “Chapter of the Year.”
