Motorcyclist dies in Tuesday afternoon crash on LA 77

A man was killed on Tuesday afternoon after he lost control of his motorcycle and struck a Ford Mustang. 

Aubrey Stewart Jr., 33, of Walker was riding his 2013 Suzuki motorcycle on LA 77 north of LA 76 around 2 p.m. when according to authorities, “Stewart failed to negotiate a curve and lost control of his motorcycle.”

After losing control Stewart hit a 2013 Ford Mustang driven by Joseph Trosclair, 59, of Maringouin.

Stewart was sent to a hospital after suffering serious injuries and the Louisiana State Police said, “he was later pronounced deceased by hospital staff.”

The driver of the Ford Mustang was wearing a seat belt and did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. 

LSP said, “impairment is not suspected to be a factor in this crash, but a toxicology sample was taken from both drivers for analysis.”
