SAINT ALBANS, Vt. (CNN) — Four fast food employees in Vermont are out of work, after being caught on camera having a food fight at the restaurant.
They were recorded at the end of their shift at a Taco Bell-KFC last week.
Andrew Chevrefills is a public health inspection manager with the Vermont Department of Health.
After seeing the video over the weekend – Monday his team went to investigate.
Chevrefils said, “Once we had a chance to talk to the establishment, management and have a better understanding of what happened we are feeling a little bit better about the situation.”
According to the inspection incident report, manager Barbara Benoit says four employees had a food fight at the end of their shift.
As a result, chipotle taco sauce was squirted on one of the girls’ hair.
According to the report, she wasn’t able to get it out in the bathroom sink, so she went to wash her hair in the 3 compartment sink in the kitchen.
Taco Bell released a statement saying, “The behavior of these employees is unacceptable. The franchisee who owns the restaurant terminated their employment.”
The Health Department says this Taco Bell/KFC did everything right in cleaning and sanitizing all the surfaces and equipment involved. But that cellphone video is not the only camera that caught the situation. At least 16 security cameras in the restaurant that caught those employees acting inappropriately and the management is investigating the situation.
The video of the food fight went viral – getting tens of thousands of views on the internet.
