Watch: Real-life Bambi and Thumper seen in local yard

National & World

RANDLE, Wash. (KOIN) — If the news cycle has been getting you down lately, here’s your daily dose of positivity. A real-life Bambi and Thumper were caught on camera playing in a yard in Randle.

Wes McMahan says he took the video last Friday, after noticing the animals in his yard. Two young bucks initially approached the rabbit, following it in circles. Eventually, one of the deer decided food was more interesting than the lagomorph, and went to graze.

But the other two had a bond that could not be broken, traipsing and hopping around until Bambi realized he had been left behind by his pronged pal, and wandered off to find him.

McMahan assured KOIN 6 that there have been no Disney princess sightings, but we were not able to independently confirm that.

Random bonus fact: Male rabbits are called bucks and females are called does.
