New Iberia Police make two arrests in connection to Shelton St. shooting

NEW IBERIA, La. (BrProud) — New Iberia Police Detectives made two arrest in connection to a Thursday, May 28, shooting near Shelton St. and Spencer Loop in New Iberia.

The following suspects were arrested and booked into the Iberia Parish Jail:  

  • 18-year-old Nolan Davis – Attempted Second Degree Murder
  • 22-year-old Alaisha Nora – Accessory after the Fact to Second Degree Murder

Around 7:30 p.m. The New Iberia Police Department was notified of a possible shooting after a person came to Iberia Medical Center for treatment of a gun shot wound. The victim’s injury was deemed non-life-threatening. Detectives visited the hospital and learned the shooting took place in the area of Shelton St. and Spencer Loop in the City of New Iberia. Detectives were then able to locate two suspects involved in the shooting.

According to authorities, Davis was also arrested on outstanding warrants for Home Invasion and Second Degree Battery unrelated to the shooting incident. The shooting investigation is ongoing and more arrest expected.
