News

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Baseball is almost back in Baton Rouge.

We are 37 days away from the Tigers taking the field at home against Maine for the first game of the season.

That game will mark the first official game for Jay Johnson as manager of the LSU Tigers.

On Wednesday, Johnson is speaking at the Rotary Club of Baton Rouge meeting.

The meeting takes place at noon at Drusilla Place Catering.

Coach Johnson is expected to speak about the current state of LSU Baseball.

Johnson comes to LSU from Arizona where the 44-year-old led the Wildcats to two College World Series appearances over five years.

The Tigers are ranked 3rd in the Collegiate Baseball 2022 preseason poll.

Jay Johnson is replacing Paul Mainieri as the manager of the Tigers.
